MADE has manufacturing facilities in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

At the heart of MADE's growth is a commitment to its core values: people, community and planet. In 2025, MADE’s New Zealand-based yoghurt brand, Epicurean Dairy successfully achieved its B Corp certification. For MADE, understanding and reducing environmental impact where possible is not simply a compliance exercise, it is a strategic business priority.

The Challenge

As a Group 2 mandatory reporter under Australia's climate-related financial disclosure requirements, MADE faced significant reporting obligations within a short timeframe. Several factors added complexity:

• A multi-entity corporate structure spanning Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific

• Manufacturing and office operations across multiple countries

• Emissions data being managed independently across numerous spreadsheets and systems

• A requirement for audit-ready emissions data to support external assurance

This fragmented approach created unnecessary double handling of data and increased the risk of inconsistencies and errors across the reporting process. MADE needed a platform and partner that could handle organisational complexity, apply credible global emissions factors, and provide access for third parties during the assurance process.

The Solution: Partnering with Climate Zero

In early 2025, MADE chose Climate Zero as their carbon accounting platform and reporting partner.

Climate Zero was selected for its expertise in Australian mandatory reporting, its ability to manage large, complex organisational structures across different jurisdictions, and its audit-ready reporting capabilities; a non-negotiable requirement given MADE's assurance obligations.

Equally important was establishing the internal processes and governance structures required to support consistent, long-term reporting across the organisation. Using Climate Zero provided the best practice framework where these could be established.

From there, the work of implementation began, and given the complexity of MADE's operations, getting the foundations right was the priority.

Building the Foundation

Given MADE’s multi-entity structure and operations across Australia, New Zealand and Asia, a key focus of the implementation was creating a clear and consistent reporting framework across the business.

Climate Zero worked closely with the MADE team to understand requirements and configure the platform around their organisational structure - this established the reporting boundaries and supported a consistent approach to data collection across key entities and locations.

A main objective was ensuring governance and audit readiness. This involved establishing a clear data management process, assigning responsibilities across teams, and ensuring emissions data could be centrally managed and reviewed ahead of external assurance. Climate Zero supports this through data quality and control features, including a detailed audit trail and gap analysis report, providing the ability to easily confirm data completeness and pinpoint missing data and anomalies.

The result is a more structured and scalable reporting framework that can continue to support MADE as the business grows.
